I've been seeing this for almost a week but havent of had the time to actually prospect it properly. Overall I'd give this piece a 9.6/10. I love the colour scheme. How the guy is Yellowish green, blue. And how the paper dangling things on the top right match his colours. The girls being mostly sunset orange and the top left charms corresponding to these.
I can also see your japanese is very good (I can read your writings on the charms). Shows how dedicated you are to this piece.
I also love the random leafs just dancing in the air amidst the picture. Gives a photo feel. The flower theme on the clothes also look as if it was hell to get through haha.
I just have a few problems with this; the girl's neck is a bit unproportional. I personally think you should of made it smaller in length. That way it looks more natural.
The hair is also beautifully drawn out and coloured in. But I think the girl's hair could use abit more shading (behind her head) like you did with the guy's hair. And I LOVE! those marks on both of their cheeks.
But the thing I love most from this piece is their eyes. Especially the guy's. Its like ocean blue and it really draws you in deeply and synchs in well with his face. (Must of been thinking about your dream guy eh haha). If I could say something more about the girl's eyes as well I would. But they are just as beautiful, but instead of the ocean blue its more of like the autumn leaves. Makes sense that you put the leafs there!
I'm gonna download this to my phone and make it as my wallpaper. Its so good to see you improve from your last piece and I'm your next one will be 1mm away from being perfect! Keep working hard!
I, personally, love the colours used on this piece, they're bold and striking and there's actually a good colour scheme going on here as far as I can see. Another good point about this piece of work is the lineart being thick, bold and neat, which compliments this piece. The shading on the face adds some depth and defines the facial features well too. I like the patterns used, they go well and fit within the the lines.
Now, there are a few bad points too... I think that there are a couple problems with their necks, first of all I believe the girl's neck should come out a little more, it seems as though it's being forced into itself. There's also a problem with the Girl's arm, it's far too long and stretches all the way behind the Boy's neck.
I used to really adore your artwork. Even now, I do. But... it's so... static. Like you're afraid to change or experiment or express anything more than "this has to look nice" You know what I mean?
well I don't really know. I just draw what I feel like drawing.. And since I'm really busy with EVERYTHING in my life, I can't really focus on drawing right now. /sigh. that is why I don't submit anything anymore here in this deviantart page until I have drawn something I am actually proud of D: >___< /le sigh
Don't get me wrong, you have really beautiful artwork. I guess I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to say either... don't worry about it. I hope life isn't too hard on you and I hope you find some more time to focus on drawing. >___<
Honestly out of all the entries for the contest this one is my favorite and I keep coming back to look at it again. I adore your style and I love the colors. I also love the fact that your picture consists of mostly traditional medium. I myself am a traditional medium artist and I struggle with photoshop, SAI, etc. except for editing my work. I really hope you place in this contest. You deserve it Best of luck to you! (I drew these two for the contest as well, they were fun to draw )
