Made the sketch like 3 weeks ago I think haha! Never got the time to color it in. Then Yesterday I read the journal that the deadline was 3 days so yeah. hahaha XDDDD
Floral + Aztec bustiers tops + unique shorts + cable knit cardigans + ponchos! (oh gawd~ If i had money to buy these, my closet would be full of these!)
Anywho, this was SUPER fun to make! Every last detail was made by me! No textures or anyting. Purely hand drawn ; u ; Most of the outfit was hugely inspired by Ashlei Louise On LB!! Seriously if I ever had someone I will ever look up to in terms of dressing up, it's got to be her
Anyway I'll just leave this here : )) Wish me luck on the contest ; u ;
Tools: Pencil for outline, then watercolors for colors~ Color pencils for detail enhancing then Photoshop CS6 for repairs and minor fixes : )
Almost everything looks perfect and a few things i love about this are the textures on the clothing especially the poncho. The shading on the skin is pretty good it helps bring the characters to life. the characters seem nice and porportionate the back ground is really nice the colors help set up the mood and make the characters pop.The only problem i see is the tassels on the red haired girls shirt, i think if you would have kept them closer to the body and shortened them up, they would have fit better, but other than that two thumbs up...
I really like the color scheme that you chose for this piece.My favorite thing is the reed heads beautiful hair. Speakingof hhair, you chould have used the same technique with the shade of blue of the other girl. You added a lot more shading to the other girls hair. You still did a really good job on the piece though. I also like the depth of green of the eyes. The clothing is very original, and makes up for the girl in blue's hair. Her clothing is especially original. I would also like to mention that this piece was my favorite one on the page.
I hope their on their way to get a big dinner... Poor things are as thin as paper. But this is a gorgeous style nonetheless!! And I really appreciate the use of modern fashion. Great eye! (maybe make the hair a bit smaller next time)
This is a very hyper mix of diverse styles and cultural elements, all over a conventional functionality. Rich patterns of varying shape and meaning all blend together within earthy hues and a de-constructed casual style seen in ripped/torn/stretched fabric ends and in utilizing a layered approach "chaotic" yet having a sense of order. The two OC pair have a gentle sense of harmony within contrast (Blue-haired more lighthearted & airy, Red-haired bold & outgoing), also the fact that you based many of these motifs off the Uto-Aztec culture creates a unique styling ferociously fresh. Finally the industrial sunset background only further enhances this with a rich atmosphere, this piece already feels like a slick photoshoot! You constantly surprise with your unique approach to styling and fashion within elegant OCs! There's so much innovation and substance here, Excellent effort and Good luck!
