This drawing is hugely inspired by Steve Moakler’s song, All the Faint Lights. (I suggest you listen to it while viewing this haha :">) You can download the bigger picture at my tumblr if you would like to use it as a wallpaper
Doodled this while going home while I was riding the bus. Colored in photoshop. Sorry it's a bit rough...I had to finish this while the feeling was still raw. XD
Just.......... profound. Despite the title's witty pun & minimal style the blend b/w simple portraiture & photowork is all seamless and adds a sense of verisimilitude.
The character is naturally pretty with slickened hair and smoooth, wholesome forms (hinted within her shoulders and upper arm's outline; usage of sleeveless black top or shirt was a perfect choice! ), tones are warm with a soft feel blending well with the photo layers. Her eyes, besides expressive pefectly capture a state of being deep in thought or concern, separate from the city-lights' splendour with tranquil air & a hint of complex backstory.
Vagueness of content notwithstanding, this "shot" speaks more than words & enables one to feel together with her. It also echoes a full grasp of introspective visual stories (i.e. Lost in Translation, anything by Oshii Mamoru XD) with its simple sincerity. Another unique side to your art-style, Thanks a lot for sharing this!
